MotionOps Acquires Emitto to Build the Next Generation of Customer Communication for Field Service
MotionOps has acquired Emitto, an international communications technology platform, to strengthen customer communication across the field service workflow. The acquisition will support expanded messaging, delivery tracking, automated notifications, and communication tied directly to proposals, scheduling, jobs, invoicing, and payments.

The acquisition strengthens MotionOps’ investment in integrated customer communication and messaging across the field service workflow.
MotionOps has acquired Emitto, an international communications technology platform focused on business messaging and customer engagement.
The acquisition is part of MotionOps’ broader strategy to make customer communication a more integrated part of how field service businesses operate every day. By bringing Emitto’s communications infrastructure and technical expertise into MotionOps, we’re building a stronger foundation for messaging across markets, channels, and different stages of the customer journey.
For field service teams, communication rarely happens in isolation. A proposal needs to reach a customer. An appointment needs to be confirmed. A technician may need to send an “On My Way” update. An invoice or payment reminder needs to go out at the right time.
Our goal is to connect those interactions directly to the workflows where they already happen.
Bringing communication closer to the job
MotionOps has already expanded its email and SMS capabilities to help businesses communicate with customers directly from the platform.
Teams can send proposals, invoices, change orders, reminders, payment follow-ups, customer portal links, and “On My Way” notifications from both desktop and mobile.
A centralized communication log also gives teams a clearer record of what has been sent to each customer, helping the office and field stay aligned without relying on separate messaging tools or disconnected records.
We’re also investing more heavily in message delivery visibility, so teams can better understand the status of outbound communication instead of simply seeing that a message was sent.
“Customer communication is closely tied to almost every part of a field service operation,” said Trevor Maddux, Co-Founder of MotionOps. “The Emitto acquisition gives us a stronger technical foundation to build those interactions directly into the workflows our customers are already using.”
Communication as part of the workflow, not another tool
Our approach is not to build messaging as a standalone feature.
Instead, communication should be connected to the full lifecycle of a job, from the first proposal and scheduling through field execution, invoicing, payment, and follow-up.
Bringing Emitto into MotionOps gives us additional infrastructure and expertise to accelerate that roadmap, including automated notifications, transactional messaging, customer updates, delivery tracking, and other communication workflows.
“Service businesses shouldn’t have to move between multiple systems to understand what was sent to a customer and when,” said Nikola Cvetkovic, Co-Founder of MotionOps. “Bringing Emitto into MotionOps gives us a head start in making communication a more integrated part of the platform.”
The acquisition is another step toward our broader goal: giving growing contractor and field service teams one connected system for managing both the work itself and the customer experience around it.
