Is MotionOps a good alternative to AccuLynx?
For many contractors, yes. MotionOps covers estimates, change orders with signatures, scheduling, invoicing, and QuickBooks Online sync, then adds GPS time tracking, HR tools, a customer portal, and online payments without paid add-ons. If roofing is your whole business, especially insurance restoration, AccuLynx's aerial measurements, supplier ordering, and supplement tracking may serve you better.
How much does AccuLynx cost compared with MotionOps?
AccuLynx doesn't publish prices. Its Pro and Elite plans are quoted by sales, add-ons like AccuPay, Customer Portal, Texting, and the Mobile Crew App cost extra, and aerial measurement reports are billed by the provider. MotionOps publishes every plan: Solo $39/mo, Go $119/mo for up to 5 users, and Scale $199/mo for 5 users, billed annually.
Does AccuLynx sync with QuickBooks Online?
Yes. AccuLynx has a two-way sync with QuickBooks Online and also works with QuickBooks Desktop: jobs, contacts, and invoices go out, and payments come back. MotionOps syncs with QuickBooks Online on every plan and connects to 7,000+ apps through Zapier.
Is AccuLynx only for roofing?
AccuLynx is purpose-built for roofing contractors, retail and insurance restoration, and is also used for gutters, siding, windows, solar, and painting. MotionOps isn't tied to one trade: it runs crews, jobs, and payroll prep for any specialty contractor.
Who should stay on AccuLynx?
Roofing companies, especially those doing insurance restoration. AccuLynx pulls aerial measurements from EagleView, Hover, GAF QuickMeasure and more into the estimate, orders materials directly from ABC Supply, SRS, and QXO, and tracks supplements, permits, and mortgage checks on Elite. MotionOps has no aerial measurement import, supplier ordering, or supplement tracking.
What does MotionOps have that AccuLynx doesn't?
HR tools: employee files, certifications and skills, and day-off requests and approvals. AccuLynx's product pages list no crew HR tools. MotionOps also includes GPS-stamped clock in and out, a customer portal, online payments, and change orders with signatures in its plans, where AccuLynx sells the Crew App, Customer Portal, AccuPay, and SmartDocs as add-ons.
Does AccuLynx offer a free trial?
No. AccuLynx offers a demo, and pricing requires a quote; it does offer a monthly subscription option. MotionOps has a 14-day free trial, and you can also book a demo first to see how it handles your crews and project types.
Is it hard to switch from AccuLynx to MotionOps?
No. MotionOps is easy to set up and use from day one, with no steep learning curve. Every account gets a free onboarding session and phone support with real people, and larger teams get white-glove onboarding plus a customer success program. You can try it first with a 14-day free trial before moving anything over.
Does AccuLynx have a mobile app for crews?
AccuLynx's Field App for iPhone, iPad, and Android is included with every account. The Mobile Crew App, which logs crew check-in and check-out with GPS, is a paid add-on. MotionOps has one mobile app at no extra charge, with clock in and out, checklists, photos, and timesheet approval.
Can I change the plan?
UPGRADE: You can upgrade anytime. For monthly plans, the new price starts right away. If you choose annual plans, the total amount is charged upfront upon signing up as a client and is non-refundable if you cancel before the year is complete.
DOWNGRADE: For monthly plans, downgrades start with your next billing cycle. For example, if you signed up on the 1st of the month and requested a downgrade on the 15th, the new pricing will apply beginning on the 1st of the following month.
